2011 Rubber Duck Regatta a Huge Success!

The 2011 RDR was another huge success, the weather was beautiful and ducks were everywhere. Once again Cabela’s brought 170 fishing poles to hand out, which made several families very excited. Our Credit Union sponsors, Wal-Mart volunteers and volunteers from the community kept the day going with
games for all ages, ticket sales and where ever else they were needed. This year a few vendors were added to the day. Unicorn Kettle Corn served up yummy kettle corn and painted many faces with a face painting booth. A big thank you to our Vietnam Vets who out did themselves grilling up burgers, hotdogs and chili dogs.

Throughout the day, the stage was buzzing with entertainment, including The Southbound Band, Power Martial Arts, Rimview Dance and a soothing demonstration by Paoist Tai Chi. Living Large Larry did an awesome job keeping everything moving. And of course there were duck races. Good Earth Works produced an AWSOME race track for the final duck races.

In tribute to the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, balloons were released and the National Anthem was sung by a group of youngsters from the crowd, led by Debbie Cook.

Prevention of Elder Abuse would like to thank everyone who helped out with their time and hard work to make this year’s event a great one!
